About Tony Lettieri: Expert Private Investigator

Tony Lettieri has two decades of law enforcement experience in Southern Nevada as a Deputy Sheriff, Police Officer, and Detective. He honorably retired from the North Las Vegas Police Department in 2016.

Lettieri started his career with the Nye County Sheriffs' Office, where he was a certified K9 handler and a member of the Sheriff’s Tactical Team. In 2000 Lettieri was certified as a member of the DEA Clandestine Drug Lab team.

In 2002 Lettieri joined the North Las Vegas Police Department (NLVPD) as a Patrol Officer. He served as a POST-certified Defensive Tactics Instructor and Field Training Officer (FTO). In 2005 Lettieri was assigned as Background Investigator in the Special Investigations Unit and was responsible for many background investigations for new hire Police Officers, as well as civilian employees and contractors. Lettieri also conducted business license investigations. This was during a time of immense growth for the City of North Las Vegas and the NLVPD. In 2004 he became a certified Computer Voice Stress Analyzer (CVSA) operator.

In 2003 Lettieri received a Commendation for his assistance in the training of NLVPD K9 teams.

In 2007 Lettieri was promoted to Detective, and he was assigned to the Burglary detail, where he conducted property crime investigations, made many arrests, and recovered stolen property. Lettieri was then assigned to the Special Victims Unit, where he investigated Sexual Assaults, Crimes Against Children and the Elderly, and Missing Persons. In 2008 Lettieri was appointed to the Clark County Child Death Review Board, where he assisted in creating protocols for the investigation of suspicious child deaths.

Lettieri was assigned to the Robbery/Homicide detail, where he investigated major Robberies, Officer Involved Shootings, Homicides, Suicides, and all suspicious deaths. Lettieri worked on several high profile Homicide cases, and he was profiled on the Discovery HD television show “Stranger in my Home”, in which they recreated a homicide case in which Lettieri was the lead investigator and resulted in a murder conviction.

In 2011 Lettieri received an NLVPD Commendation for his investigation, which assisted in the arrest and successful prosecution of the “Scarf Face Bandit” who was responsible for numerous armed robberies throughout Clark County.

Lettieri completed his career in the Financial Crimes detail, where he investigated all aspects of Financial Crimes, including Fraud, Forgery, Embezzlement, Cybercrime, Elder Exploitation, and internal employee thefts. Lettieri worked with judges and city employees to begin the implementation of the “Squatter Task Force” to address the illegal takeover of properties in the City of North Las Vegas.

Lettieri has had extensive training in the area of interview and interrogation as well as specific training for each detail he has worked on. He is a current member of the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators (IAFCI).

Lettieri also has experience working in Executive Protection for several high-profile clients. He has extensive firearms knowledge, is licensed to carry a concealed firearm, and has received extensive training in active shooter and tactical building entry.

Prior to his law enforcement career, Lettieri was an executive in the entertainment industry. He worked extensively in the motion picture and music business in various capacities and has been based in New York City, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area. He is currently based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
